National Autism Awareness Month takes place in April and throughout the month our Senior ASD Class made posters to highlight Autism Awareness. They also followed As I Am which is hosted by Adam Harris on Twitter. There was a special session in Dungarvan Library where the children listened to the story called "Lost and Found" and then they created artwork based on the story.
We had a lovely school assembly on the day before the Easter Holidays. Each class performed songs in Irish and the children who had made a special effort to speak as gaeilge were rewarded with an easter egg each. Ms. O'Brien's class also got the class prize for speaking Irish. School opens for the Summer Term on Monday April 29th. Artist Tunde Toth visited fourth and fifth class and mentored them as they created their own works of art based on old sayings, such as Every cloud has a silver lining, A stitch in time saves nine and An apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Congratulations to the combined Coolnasmear and Kilbrien Mini 7 s team on their marvellous win against Rathgormack in the County Final on Tuesday.
